Stephen Kiarie
Managing Director & Chartered Loss Adjuster
Mr. Stephen Kiarie is the Principal Officer & Chartered Loss Adjuster at Proximate Adjusters Limited.. With a Bachelors in Education (Business Studies and Economics) from Kenyatta University, Stephen ventured into Loss Adjusting in 1992. He attained professional qualifications in the insurance industry including Associate of Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters-UK (ACILA) and Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute-UK (ACII).
Stephen is also an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa (ILASA), Associate of Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK) and Associate of Institute of Loss Adjusters & Risk Surveyors – Kenya (IARS). Stephen’s career in Loss Adjusting saw him working at Robins Blakeman, McLarens Toplis, General Adjusters (K) Ltd and Protectors Limited before he founded Proximate Adjusters Limited.
Martin Muchoki
Associate Director and Senior Loss Adjuster
Mr. Martin M. Muchoki is an Associate Director and Senior Loss Adjuster at Proximate Adjusters Limited.
Martin started his Loss Adjusting career at Proximate Adjusters Limited in 2004 and later worked with Toplis & Harding International (Loss Adjusters) Limited. Before re-joining Proximate Adjusters in September 2019, Martin worked as a Senior Loss Adjuster at Cunningham Lindsey Kenya Limited for over 10 years.
Martin has over 18 years continuous loss adjusting experience in handling a wide range of claims adjustment ranging from simple to complex and major losses under different Policies. His background training in Electrical Engineering has armed him with strong skills in handling Machinery Breakdown, Engineering and Information Technology (IT) related claims, such as Cyber Crime and other fraud losses.
Martin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (UK) and is currently pursuing
CILA qualifications.
Bill Gitau
Loss Adjuster
Mr. Bill Gitau is a Loss Adjuster at Proximate Adjusters Limited. Bill holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB.) from the University of Nairobi. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (UK) and holder of Certificate qualification (Cert. CILA). He is currently pursuing his Diploma qualification.
Bill interned at Canopy Insurance Brokers Limited before joining Proximate Adjusters Limited. Bill developed skills and knowledge of loss adjusting through intense training, hands-on-experience and extensive knowledge of insurance industry.
Humphrey Maina
Loss Adjuster
Mr. Humphrey Maina is a Loss Adjuster at Proximate Adjusters Limited. He is an Associate of Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK). Humphrey previously worked in the Insurance Industry, including Great Five Insurance Brokers and Acropolis Insurance Brokers.
John Macharia
Loss Adjuster-cum-Quantity Surveyor
Mr. John Macharia is a Loss Adjuster -cum – Quantity Surveyor specializing in building and engineering claims. John has a B.A. in Quantity Surveying from the University of Nairobi. John has spent time developing skills and knowledge of loss adjusting through intense training, hands on experience and expanding knowledge of insurance industry.
Mrs. Judith Mutua
Office Administrator
Mrs. Judith Mutua is the Office Administrator and holds a Diploma in Administration. Judith is efficient with computer and Microsoft packages among other skills.
